Childrens plates made of stoneware. Baby bottles made of glass, not plastic.
Unpainted wooden toys and wool dolls – a hark back to the past; given way to a throwaway, convenient age.
One cannot ignore the fact that in the race to keep up with demand and businesses aim to drive costs down, products are no longer as we knew them when we were children. The products are now cheaper to make, more attractive, lighter and sturdier - but everyday reveals growing concern, suspicion and facts that the materials that give them these properties are also slowly poisoning us. Plastics and chemicals are now found everywhere; in our packaging, leaching into our food and water, in our soaps and toys.
Plastics break down over time, and in our homes we can inadvertently speed this along by simply heating, cleaning and using them. In some cases minute amounts of very harmful toxins can be leached in everyday use - such as with polycarbonate baby bottles due to constant cleaning and sterilisation practices. Some countries have moved to ban or have already banned these types of bottles - Australia has yet to follow this lead.
The effects of some carcinogens do not present immediately, but may manifest later on in life.
Children will have a lifetime to accumulate toxins that are a by-product of this new age we live in – we can also try our best to limit their exposure in these highly formative and sensitive years. Baby Grow Safe will evolve as new products are sought. Only the best-in-breed products are added to our range (including 'safer' plastic items), as our commitment to providing excellent products that meet our stringent and holistic criteria.
